Sleeping beauty hacks

A girl can only dream about waking up and looking like Victoria secret model.

I don't know about you, but I dread looking into the mirror when I first wake up in the morning... puffy eyes, pale skin, knotty hair... And I thought it was called 'beauty sleep'??

 Plenty of sleep & rest
This is pretty logical...
But you need to get around 7-8 hours sleep each night (for the average adult adult) and a lot of people don't.
Sometimes I find when I over or under sleep I wake up feeling worse...
Your body works on a routine and you need to find yourself a good sleeping pattern to allow yourself to get the rest that your body deserves. Whilst you sleep, not only does your body rest but your body heals and repairs itself, as in it gives your muscles time to repair.
It's actually quite a wonderful thing!

Also the darker that your room, the more guarenteed you are to have a deeper nights sleep...
When you have street lights & irritating road noises-your body still stays remotely awake. When you have a completely dark, silent room, your body can fall into a deeper and more natural sleep, leaving you feeling even more rested (& happier) when you wake up in the morning. Yay.

Create your own beauty regime
Find some products that can work some magic whilst you sleep & create a nighty routine.
It's important to find product/s that you feel cleans your skin completely and a really good, nourishing moisturising cream.
It's important to make sure that you use a moisturising product on your skin before bed so it has time to absorb into your skin and keep it hydrated.

I used to be terrified of using moisturiser, as I would break out in spots. But my recommendation is if you have skin that is prone to break outs, look for a product that doesn't contain oil in the ingredients, or specifies that it's 'oil free'.

Magic, oil free, night creme, works in 12 hours, age re-wind, youth cream, winkle remover, will make you look like a baby, blah blah... Theres a moisturiser for everything & everyone.

I have posted my own before bed routine & products that you can find here:

You are what you eat
Yes, it is true... Your diet plays a huge part in your beauty.

If you are going to pump fats and sugars into your body, you body will give it all back by giving you dry hair, pimples and horrible skin.
If you eat lots of foods containing natural oils and antioxidants like nuts, berries and green veggies- your body will love you for it!
Leaving you with shiny, healthy hair and beautiful, glowing skin. Perfect!

Coconut oil
Get on board the same-train with everyone else and jump onto the coconut oil band-wagon.

Coconut oil is incredibly good for your health, which you probably already know because it's everywhere at the moment!
You can whiten teeth by 'pulling' your teeth with the oil. Just swish a teaspoon back and forth around your month (like you do with mouth wash) for 5-10 minutes every day and your teeth will start to sparkle.
And it will make your hair super shiny... Just coast your hair from roots to ends with coconut oil and leave to rest for an hour or so and wash as normal.
It leaves your hair feeling so healthy, soft and looking silky!

Is there anything that coconut oil can not do?!? Didn't think so...

Vaseline works wonders for your eyelashes
I must admit, the first time I put Vaseline on my eye lashes I used way too much and during the night I woke up with blurred vision, which led to a slight panic attack of me trying to accept that I had gone blind. Haha...
So be sparing when it comes to placing the thick and gooey product onto your delicate eye lashes.
When you think about it, we never really show our eye lashes much love, yet we really want thick and long lashes and cover it with all sorts of mascaras.
To help  care for your lashes, use a little bit of Vaseline on them every night.
You will notice straight away how thicker your lashes will feel the next morning.
It's a good idea to incorporate this into your nightly beauty routine.
And when your wake up in the morning and your lashes are feeling really long and healthy, come thank me. Thank you!

Use a silk pillow
There are a reason why Blair and Serena from Gossip Girl have silk pillows... it's because using a silk pillow means that it won't tangle up your hair overnight. I know they look pretty ridiculous and cheap... but if it means less tangles in your hair, why not!
