10 Things to do in your 20's

1. START TAKING CARE OF YOURSELF
I mean really start taking care of yourself. Start eating real wholesome food and fuel your body with loads of fruit, vegetables and all things good for you. Stop drinking energy drinks and fizzy drink and start doing what is best for you. Get to know you body and understand what you need. Start eating breakfast, lunch and dinner everyday. Stop biting your nails. Start exercising. Whatever it is, just start taking care of you.

2. FIND A LOOK THAT SUITS YOU
The best thing about yourself is that you can always change the way that you look. It's always so refreshing to get a new hair cut or colour or changing your style. So find out what suits you. Find your own style. I believe your teenage years are the time to trial every look possible, as they are the years you are trying to find yourself. So in your 20's you start having some idea of who you are. And that's when number 3 comes in...

3. FIND NEW FRIENDS
Once you have found yourself or what your interested in, or even who you want to be- that is when you will find genuine friends. The kind of friends that will be around for the long run. During school you usually will have a huge group of friends and afterwards everyone goes there own ways to uni or travelling and life just takes the course. By knowing who you are, you are more likely to find people who will share the same interests as you do.

4. REMOVE TOXIC PEOPLE FROM YOUR LIFE
With taking care of yourself, comes taking charge. There are certain people that we hold onto for a lot longer than what we should. If you have someone around you that constantly brings you down or causes problems or drama in your life, just let them go. Sometimes it's a really hard thing to do. But it's about time that you start putting yourself first. Maybe start with all those hundreds of Facebook friends that you don't know who they are, they clog your newsfeed with endless baby photos or all they do is rant... Delete them. Find who those people are that bring you up and are worth keeping and the rest let go. Just do whatever is best for you!

5. MOVE OUT
I think we all reach a personal peak on when we should move out of home. It's not because we don't love our parents, It's because we need our own space to grow ourselves. Moving out of home is one of the biggest things you can do to change your life. It pushes you to work harder, be more successful in your job, appreciate money and learn how to budget.

6. LEARN HOW TO BUDGET
When I got my first job, I was still living at home and would waste all my money. It wasn't until I moved out that I really started to appreciate having a job and money, and that's when I learnt to budget. The best way to save is to be saving for something. If you know that you need $2000 for a holiday, you probably won't go around wasting money on things that you don't need. Set yourself an allowance and put aside money each week. And before you know it, you will start saving, yay!

7. ALWAYS, ALWAYS HAVE GOALS
To grow as a person, we need to make sure that we are always pushing ourselves. In school we have so many goals to achieve like our HSC or a better report card. And when we become adults we can become lazy and comfortable with our lives. We need to always make sure we are striving for more. Whether it is to be a better person, run 10 kilometres, saving for that holiday or get that dream job. Always be pushing yourself for more!

8. START TAKING RESPONSIBILITY
You're an adult now... It's time to admit to your mistakes and admit that you can be wrong. In your work place, instead of always blaming someone else, admitting that you where wrong can show that you are responsible and have courage. It shows that you take initiative and are willing to fix it. If you're life isn't going the way that it should, you can't blame anyone else. Start making your bed, or organising your bills. If you don't like something, change it. If you're hungry, eat. If you're bored, do something. Easy!

9. STOP WORRYING
Don't stress the small stuff. I am a worry wart myself. I worry about big things, little things, things that haven't happened, things that have happened, things that are happening. It's a very hard cycle to break out of. I try to think about when asking someone something "what is the worst thing that could happen..." well they can say no, and if they do, its happened, therefore: move on. Don't stress about not knowing what you want to be when you're older, or that one day aliens might come down and invade society. Less stressing= better!

10. JUST BE YOURSELF
At the end of the day, being in your 20's is an exciting time. You have 10 years that great things that can happen. You can transform yourself completely, break bad habits, learn, travel and do the unthinkable. The world is your oyster. So just be yourself. Or more importantly, be true to yourself. Don't change a thing for anyone. Don't try to be someone who you are not. Being yourself is what will attract all the right things and people into your life!

Today you are You, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is Your than you. - Dr Seuss
